General Data Protection Regulations
The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) is legislation which the EU has enacted and it increases the obligations on all organisations as to the standards they must meet when handling and storing your personal data. The legislation came into effect on 25 May 2018.
In accordance with the GDPR we need to check with you that it is all right for us to hold your data. We store names, contact addresses (usually workplace) and email addresses of members. We only use this data in order to contact members with information about School Chaplains’ Association events, resources, other CPD opportunities and information related to Chaplaincy and the teaching profession.
The information is held electronically and accessed on devices which are password protected. Printed membership forms are stored annually and shredded once the term of membership has lapsed (October – October).
We will never give, sell or rent the data that we hold to other organisations to be used for their own business.
If members do not want their data stored they should email contact@schoolchaplaincy.ie advising of the same.
