Graduation Reflections

Make Your Life the Best it Can Be

Each day is a blank page in the
Diary of Your Life.
The pen is in your hand, but the lines will not all be written the way you choose,
some will come from the world and the circumstances that surround you.
The secret of your life is in making your story as beautiful as it can be.
Write the diary of your days and fill the pages with words that come from the heart.
As the pages take you through time, you will discover paths that add to your happiness and your sorrows, but if you can be aware of a Greater Hand guiding yours as you write there will always be hope in your tomorrows.
Follow your dreams.
Work hard.
Be Kind.
Remember goodness will reward.
Smiles will pay you back.

Trust in God

Often your tasks will be many

And more than you think you can do...

Often the road will be rugged

And the hills insurmountable, too…

But always remember, the hills ahead

Are never as steep as them seem,

And with Faith in your heart start upward

And climb ‘til you reach your dream,

For nothing in life that is worthy

Is ever too hard to achieve

If you have the courage to try it

And you have the Faith to believe…

For Faith is a force that is greater

Than knowledge or power or skill

And many defeats turn to triumph

If you trust in God’s wisdom and will…

For Faith is a mover of mountains,

There’s nothing that God cannot do,

So start out today with Faith in your heart

And “climb ‘til your dream comes true”!

This is what we are about

This is what we are about.

We plant the seeds that one day will grow.

We water seeds already planted,

knowing that they hold future promise.

We lay foundations that will need further development.

We provide yeast that produces far beyond our capabilities.

We cannot do everything, and there is a sense of liberation

in realizing that. This enables us to do something,

and to do it very well. It may be incomplete,

but it is a beginning, a step along the way,

an opportunity for the Lord's grace to enter and do the rest.

We may never see the end results, but that is the
difference

between the master builder and the worker.

We are workers, not master builders; ministers, not
messiahs.

We are prophets of a future not our own.

Amen.

Oscar Romero

Moving On

We are moving on

Reaching towards our hopes and dreams

It has taken us far too long

To reach this place, it seems

Our fears may try to hold us back

To try and block our way

But with courage and faith in our hearts

We will get there come what may

The road will be a long one

And it may be rocky too

But when we reach this place and time

Our dreams will all shine through

We are coming nearer to our goals

And our excitement grows

The plans we have made will soon be real

Along with the destiny we chose

Though we have had our ups and downs

We have always had each other to lean on

We're no longer held back by our fears

We're finally ... Moving On.

I believe

I believe- that our background and circumstances may have
influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I believe- that no matter how good a friend is, they're
going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I believe- that just because someone doesn't love you the
way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

I believe- that true friendship continues to grow, even
over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I believe- that it's taking me a long time to become the
person I want to be.

I believe- that you should always leave loved ones with
loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I believe- that you can keep going, long after you can't.

I believe- that we are responsible for what we do, no
matter how we feel.

I believe- that either you control your attitude or it
controls you.

I believe- that heroes are the people who do what has to be
done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.

I believe- that money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I believe- that my best friend and I can do anything or
nothing and have the best time.

I believe- that sometimes the people you expect to kick you
when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.

I believe- that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right
to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I believe- that maturity has more to do with what types of
experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with
how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I believe- that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by
others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive your self.

I believe- that no matter how bad your heart is broken the
world doesn't stop for your grief.

I believe- that just because two people argue, it doesn't
mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, it doesn't
mean they do.

I believe- that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a
secret. It could change your life forever.

I believe- that two people can look at the exact same thing
and see something totally different.

I believe- that your life can be changed in a matter of
hours by people who don't even know you.

I believe- that even when you think you have no more to give,
when a friend cries out to you you will find the strength to help.

I believe- that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.

I believe- that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.

Living in the Moment

Life's memories are made in a single moment,

Present time allows nothing to deter these memories,

Not even one component.

As time goes on, the memories of the past,

Stay with us and last.

Cherishing these moments is living at its best,

Which permits oneself to reminisce while at rest.

Living in the moment brings such pleasure,

Realization one must eternally treasure.

These special memories with whom one may share,

Are important to those who care.

Listening to one another,

Brings wealth to each other.

All this and more,

Makes living in the moment a vital score!

Do not loose out in disarray;

Spend your time today,

Living in the moment!

There are two 'messages' that all human beings need to receive and record. They are the messages of affirmation and of personal responsibility. These two messages are like the two legs on which a person can walk successfully through life. The message of affirmation is this:

'You are a unique human being, the one and only you. You are a creature of God, made in his image and likeness. But after he made you, he broke the mould. There never was and there never will be another you. You are a real gift to this world and a person of inestimable worth.'

The message of responsibility is this:

'As you mature into adulthood you must take your life into your own hands. You must at this time assume full responsibility for your own life, emotions and attitudes. The outcome of your life is in your hands. When you look into the mirror, you are looking at the one person who is responsible for your happiness.'

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate; Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond our measure. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?'

Actually who are you not to be? You are a child of God. We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just some of us: it's everyone.
